Milling bits won't leave a burr inside the barrel unless you try to force them. Now, it does appear that ported choke tubes are less annoying than the ported barrel, and these are designed to dissapate the gasses and hold the wad for a millisecond thus inproving your patterning. I think the porting at the very end versus 3 inches back makes a huge differance. WebSep 4, 2024 · Porting and barrel length, in my opinion and limited experience, have very little to do with recoil when compared with the barrel design (back-boring). On any O/U, have a nice pad fitted (Limbsaver, Decelerator, etc) and even toss in a recoil reducer if you've got bony shoulders like mine that don't like 100+ rounds in a day .
